The mission of the Department of Internet Ministries is to follow the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ who said: "Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation" (Mark 16.15). As a part of this ministry, we have created ICONOGRAMS.org, a FREE Orthodox e-xcard service.
As of August 2008, a total of 328,533 Iconograms have been sent out to people all over the world!
Our recent upgrades gives ICONOGRAMS.org a new look and feel and now provides users with:
- More icons, icon descriptions, readings, and hymns
- Options to fully customize greetings by changing color themes and fonts
- ICONOGRAMS.org notifies you when your card has been viewed
- ICONOGRAMS.org notifies your friends and loved ones that an Iconogram has been sent to them
- Searching capabilities
Features available for registered users:
- A history of the Iconograms you have sent
- An address book for quick sending
- An event reminder to keep you up-to-date on special events such as namedays, wedding anniversaries, and birthdays in the lives of your loved ones
- The ability to tell ICONOGRAMS.org when you would like to have your greeting sent out
- Our website notifies the recipient via email, that they have received an Iconogram. These email notifications provide specific instructions on how to pick-up and view the Iconogram.
- Once the Iconogram has been viewed our website notifies the original sender with an email message.
Simplicity and ease of use make ICONOGRAMS.org ideal for any age group. We here at the Department of Internet Ministries hope that you enjoy using ICONOGRAMS.org as much as we enjoy improving the site for you!

How is ICONOGRAMS.org funded?
ICONOGRAMS is a service of the Department of Internet Ministries,
under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
This site is made possible by grants from Leadership 100 and by the
many gracious donations of those who use ICONOGRAMS.org.
What if the ICONOGRAMS database does not have the icon I
am looking for?
Please send us your comments
and suggestions by clicking on the "Contact Us" link on the
left-hand side of the screen. Though we are always looking to expand our collection of icons on our site, we must be given permission by the original iconographer or publisher first in order to use them.
What is the difference between search and extended
search?
When a user turns on the extended search feature, ICONOGRAMS expands its search to include text from the icon names, hymns and readings.
